They simply produce something at a very high quality that costs a lot to make. Basically this is what all real luxury items started out as - a maker of "the best" of something, not just a status symbol. So yes, it is true that the average price of a new A. Lange & Sohne watch is about 35,000 - 40,000 Euros. It is also true that in this humble watch lover's opinion, who can earnestly not even begin to think about affording one of these timepieces, I can honestly say the price is totally worth it.
